Will getting a Carstache® really change my life?

Yes, it will make your life better.

What is the Carstache® made out of?

The short answer is that Carstaches are made from acrylic faux fur, polyester stuffing, and polyester fabric on the back. It's all synthetic materials.

How big is the Carstache®?

Big enough! Here are some approximate Carstache™ sizes:

Why aren't there more Carstache® colors and styles of mustache?

Patience please... we're working on making more styles and colors. If you have any special requests please send an email to info@carstache.com. The more you request a specific color or style, the quicker we'll get on it.

What happens if the Carstache® gets wet?

Carstaches are weather resistant. They're made from synthetic materials that resist mold and mildew so it's ok if it gets wet, just let it dry out. Don't let it sit wet for days and days, but a little rain won't hurt it. Wind from driving actually acts as a natural blow dryer, so just drive around for a bit once it stops raining and it should fluff right back up to it's full glory. DO NOT MACHINE DRY. What happens if the Carstache® gets dirty?

If your Carstache™ gets dirty, remove it from your car and wash it with soap and water. DO NOT MACHINE WASH. Give it a nice combing, a massage, whisper a few kinds words, and then strap it back on and hit the road. Also, see the Care Instructions section for more details.

How do I attach the Carstache™ to my car?

It's really easy. The Carstache comes with three rubber coated Attaching Wires and you just strap it onto your car grille. Check out the Carstache™ Installation Guide

Is the Carstache® compatible with my car model?

Carstaches fit on MOST cars, but not every car model. If your car has a front grille then it should work fine. If your car does not have a front grille, then it probably won't work. For example, Porches and Beetles don't have front grilles, so a Carstache™ most likely won't fit. (Sorry Porsche and Beetle owners, we'll try to figure something out since it would look amazing).

Will the Carstache® cover my front license plate? Is this legal?

On most car models your Carstache™ will not cover your license plate, but on some car models it will. The laws about covering or removing your front license plate vary by country and state. You should consult local laws before installing your Carstache®.

Are Carstaches really woven from Unicorn hair?

Yes the 'stache fur is made from 100% genuine wild Unicorn hair*
*That was a lie, it's made from synthetic faux fur. No unicorns were harmed or murdered making your Carstache®

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Please read and follow these instructions carefully to ensure proper installation and use.

NOTE: Only begin Carstache® installation when car engine is cold. Do not install Carstache™ while car engine is running.

TIP: Put the wires on your car grille first, then attache the Carstache®

Step 1: Place Attaching-Wires on car grille

Take each of the three attaching-wires and loop them through your car grille (see Figure 1A)
USE ALL THREE ATTACHING-WIRES.

Space the three wires so that they will align as closely as possible with the three Wire-Sleeves (see Figure 1B) on the back of the Carstache®.

Step 2: Fasten Attaching-Wires to Wire-Sleeves on Carstache®

NOTE: You will repeat this step three times to secure each of the three Attaching Wires one at a time.

Thread one end of the first Attaching-Wire through the coinciding Attaching-Sleeve on the Carstache® (see Figure 2A). (Make sure not to pull the Attaching-Wire off of the car grille)

Pull the wire tight so that the Carstache® is snug against the car grille. (See Figure 2B)


Twist the attaching-wire around itself MULTIPLE TIMES to secure the Carstache® in place. (See Figure 2c)

NOTE: Tuck any excess wire behind the Carstache®. DO NOT stick extra wire back through the car grille into the engine compartment.

GUIDELINES ON PROPER CARSTACHE® USE:

Please read and adhere to the following guidelines on proper Carstache® use.

  • A Carstache® is a novelty automotive accessory. It is not a toy. It is intended for adult use only.
  • Only begin Carstache® installation when car engine is cold. Do not install Carstache® while car engine is running.
  • Carstache® should not cover your headlights. If your headlights are covered do not use.
  • Do not use Carstache® while driving on Interstates or at Highway Speeds.
  • Carstache® is not intended for use while traveling over 40 MPH (64 KPH).
  • To prevent theft, remove your Carstache® when leaving vehicle unattended.
  • Do not alter Carstache® or Attaching Wires in any way. Do not substitute other fastener materials in place of the included Attaching Wires.
  • Always fasten Carstache® securely using all three attaching wires.
  • Always twist attaching wires around themselves multiple times to secure Carstache® in place.
  • With some car models, your Carstache® may cover, or partially cover, your license plate. Laws governing the covering and/or removal of front license plates vary by country and state. Consult local laws before installing your Carstache®.

Care Instructions

  • Carstaches and Bikestaches are made from synthetic materials and are Weather Resistant.
  • If Carstache/Bikestache becomes wet, allow to air dry. DO NOT MACHINE DRY. Wind from driving/riding will help the natural drying process (think of it like a natural blow-dryer). Do not blow dry on high heat.
  • If Carstache/Bikestache becomes dirty, hand-wash with soap and warm water. 
  • If you love your 'stache, and care for it, you'll be riding together for years to come.

Shipping

A 'stacheless day is a day wasted, and our goal is to 'stachify your wheels as quickly and economically as possible. Orders ship within 2 business days of receipt, and typically on the same day.

Domestic Orders:

All domestic packages are shipped via USPS, and customers may choose between three different shipping methods; USPS Parcel Post (5-7 days), USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days), and USPS Express (overnight).

Shipping charges are calculated during the checkout process, and are based upon shipping method, number of Carstaches ordered, and shipping destination (state). Orders either ship from San Francisco CA, or Atlanta, GA.  

International Orders:

We offer international shipping through USPS Priority Mail Intl, USPS LS Express Mail Intl, and USPS LS 1st Class Mail Intl. If you want to order a whole lot of 'staches please send an emial to stacheme@carstache.com and we can work something out.

Returns

If your Carstache® or Bikestache® arrives in damaged condition, or is defective, we will accept returns within 30 days of receipt. We will only accept returns on products that have not been used.

How do I return a Carstache/Bikestache?

If you believe that the product is damaged or defective, please contact Carstache support by sending an email to support@carstache.com that includes a detailed written description of the problem. The return process can often be expedited by including a digital image of the damage or defect.

If the damage / defect cannot be verified over the phone or via email contact, the item may be required to return to Carstache for inspection before a determination can be made as to the state of the product.

Who covers the return shipping cost?

Carstache will provide a prepaid return shipping label in cases where items have arrived in damaged condition or are confirmed by a Carstache representative to be defective.

For all other cases, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Carstache will not reimburse (or provide credit) for return shipping costs incurred by the customer. If a product is damaged or defective, the recipient must make arrangements with Carstache support as to how the return should be handled prior to placing the items back in transit to Carstache.
